:-( that was really nice.

i have to say, i've been very disappointed to hear some of the other things people have been saying. there is a morning show on the radio here that i normally listen to on the way home from bringing lyla to school and today they really made me angry making jokes about his death. there is nothing funny about it.

I agree with you Tracy that death is nothing to joke about, at the same time I can't help but wonder -- after a good friend of mine had her father pass away a few days ago -- why we collectively seem to care about someone we've never even met.

I don't think it is odd that we care for those we haven't met, I think it stirs up feelings in ourselves, making us think about how we'd feel if it were our husband, father, brother, etc... General sympathy for someone else in the human race isn't necessarily a bad thing.
